Thailand Shares Rise

The Thailand SET Index SET, +0.25% saw a slight increase of 0.2% to reach 1,403.61. Gunkul Engineering GUNKUL, +1.54%, a leading industrial goods company, experienced significant growth during the session, with their shares rising by 6.8%. Thaifoods Group TFG, +1.18% also performed well, with a rise of 4.1%. Praram 9 Hospital PR9, +0.67%, a prominent player in the healthcare and life sciences industry, rounded out the top three performers, as their shares increased by 4.0%.

On the other hand, PTT Global Chemical PTTGC, +1.89%, an energy firm, faced the largest decline, with a decrease of 7.4%. Asia Network Intl ANI, +6.15%, a transportation and logistics company, also experienced a decline of 5.1%. Grand Canal Land GLAND, +3.85%, a real estate and construction company, saw their shares drop by 4.8%.

Southeast Asia Market Overview

Singapore’s FTSE Straits Times Index STI, +0.19% witnessed a small increase of 0.2%. In contrast, Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI FBMKLCI, -0.61% fell 0.6%. The Philippines’ PSEi Index PSEI, -0.79% dropped by 0.8%, while Indonesia’s JSX Composite Index JAKIDX, -0.14% experienced a slight decrease of 0.1%.

Asia-Pacific Region Performance

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index HSI, +0.04% remained stable, showing no significant change. The NIKKEI 225 Index NIK, -1.59% of Japanese companies, however, faced a decline of 1.6%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, +0.57% had a modest increase of 0.6%.

South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index 180721, -0.55% saw a decrease of 0.5%. Similarly, the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index XJO, -0.45% of Australian stocks also fell by 0.4%.

Currency Movements

The U.S. dollar USDTHB, -0.37% experienced a slight decrease of 0.3%, resulting in a value of 34.86 Thai baht. The euro EURTHB, -0.32% also saw a drop of 0.3%, bringing it down to 38.13 baht.
