McDonald’s to Launch Spinoff Brand Called CosMc’s in 2024

McDonald’s Corp. is set to introduce a new restaurant brand called CosMc’s in the year 2024. The spinoff concept will showcase a beloved retro character from the 1980s and 1990s, CosMc. This familiar mascot, part-space creature and part-machine, will take center stage in the McDonaldland fictional universe alongside Ronald McDonald and his friends.

During McDonald’s recent earnings call, CEO Chris Kempczinski described CosMc’s as a small format concept that possesses the DNA of McDonald’s while maintaining its own unique personality. This exciting announcement coincided with a “UFO hearing” conducted by a special House subcommittee, where a former intelligence officer testified under oath about the existence of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the possession of the U.S. government.

CosMc’s is expected to launch in early 2024 in a limited geography. More information about this venture will be disclosed at McDonald’s investor day scheduled for December.

Bringing Back the Nostalgia: McDonald’s Retro Character Makes a Comeback

McDonald’s never fails to surprise its customers with new and exciting additions to their menu. The latest buzz in town revolves around the revival of one of their beloved retro characters. Inspired by the iconic purple creature named Grimace, McDonald’s introduced the Grimace Birthday Meal, complete with a delightful purple milkshake. Chipotle Mexican Grill, for instance, announced plans to open a single location of its spinoff Farmesa in Santa Monica, California. Additionally, Golden Corral is preparing to introduce a fast-casual concept called Homeward Kitchen in Southern Pines, North Carolina, later this year.

McDonald’s stock has experienced positive growth, with a 2.06% increase during Thursday afternoon’s trading. Year-to-date, the stock has risen by an impressive 13.11% in 2023. The continuous success and innovative approaches of McDonald’s undoubtedly make it one of the industry leaders to watch out for.
